What are the training requirements to erect/dismantle or
modify a scaffold?
OSHA Training Requirements 1926.454
OSHA requires all employees who erect, dismantle, move, operate, repair, maintain or inspect scaffolds to be trained by a Competent Person. Training must cover:
- The nature of scaffold hazards
- The correct procedures for erecting, disassembling, moving, operating, repairing, inspecting and maintaining the type of scaffold
- The design criteria and maximum intended
load-carrying capacity - Intended use of the scaffold
